Case Study - Gamification of the citation.

The NAIT library wanted to create a fun and engaging way to teach students how to properly cite their sources. I developed a game that allows students to learn and practice their citation skills in a fun and engaging way.

Overview

Working with the library staff to understand their lesson and what they wanted the students to learn, we wanted to do more to make the content engaging. We decided to use gamification to make the content more fun and engaging. Having pacman gobble the citations in the correct order was a fun way to teach students how to properly build their citations.

Working with the designer to create the look and feel of the game, I developed the game using Javascript and Canvas. The game was built to work on all devices though the requirement was to be used on the library computers.
